Jacob gets the low down from Mr Claus - A Christmas Yoga Story

Christmas Story
All About
Love

Jacob was wondering what on earth to get his parents for Christmas. Warrior 1

He had already written to Santa Claus to request a purple bike. He had asked his granny for sneakers and had a list as long as his arm for his Mum and Dad.

'Mum', Jacob walked into the kitchen where his mum was trying to cook dinner quickly before going to work. Reverse Warrior collecting ingredients

'What would you and Dad like for Christmas?', Jacob asked. Goddess Pose with open hands.

'Where shall I begin ... how about a new dishwasher, that is at the top of my list', she laughed.

Later the next day Jacob was thinking that a dishwasher was not much of a present. Besides, he only had fourteen euros and a few cents in his wallet. What on earth can I get them? Santa should really be bringing presents for everyone - I wonder if he does?  Tree thinking

Well, one small thought can lead to a big idea and Jacob put his fingers in his mouth and whistled for his Labrador, Bruce. Dog Pose

'Come on Brucey', he said harnessing his dog to a tiny sleigh. 'Lets go find Santa Claus and the Elves. We need to ask him for Adult presents'. Bruce gave him a funny look but stomped his front feet and flew miraculously into the air and towards the North Pole. Boat Pose

As they flew, Jacob could see forests of trees below him. A pack of wolves running through the snow. Pure white owls flying in the blue sky and .... Elves. Dog Pose. Eagle Pose.

'Oi Brucey, is that a bunch of Elves down there?'

Bruce woofed.

'They don't look too happy. Lets go down and take a look'. Camel Pose

Bruce flew down and landed heavily on the snow. Poor Jacob landed head first but he was OK and just brushed off the snow.

'Hello Elves', Jacob beamed. He had never seen these sweet little creatures in real life.
'Hello Master Jacob and Mr Bruce', they said in unison.
'You look a bit glum', Jacob looked at their frowns.
'We have lost our Captain, and only he knows the way back home'.
'Not a bother', said Jacob, 'we will find him, won't we Bruce'. Bruce barked once.
'I don't know how, you need to pass the giant frozen lake - it is very dangerous'.
'Not a bother lads'.

Jacob leaned forward and hooked Bruce onto his back and they tip toed across the lake until the reached the other side. Back to back. Interlock elbows, take partner on back and walk across mats twice. Swap.
The snow was much heavier and they could not see much.
'Woof', barked Bruce
'What do you see boy?'.

It was a smudge of red and green up ahead.
'I think you found him fella, good boy'.

Jacob and Bruce stomped through the snow slowly. It was thick and hard to get their legs out but they finally made it to Captain Elf. Walk through mud across mats.

'Sir, Mr, Captain', Jacob stuttered. The elf looked very stern and quite grumpy.
'Yes child'.
'Your men are lost and waiting for you across the river'.
'It is true but they must find out how to get home alone, they must grow stronger and wiser.
But child why are you here'

'Well I wanted to meet Santa'
'Not possible'
'To...
'Not possible'
'To ... ask him for Adult presents - how are kids supposed to get wonderful presents with just fourteen euros?'
'Ahhh I see, that is a quandary', Elf Captain said thoughtfully, 'then I believe you must meet Santa. Can you see through these thick trees?'.
'There is a light, follow it and you will come to a small door, and then another small door. Go through and you will find Santa'. Tibetan Salute to the Sun

And just as promised, there he was sitting by the fire, just in his socks. Cup of tea on the tray and a TV dinner. Kids can make up a Santa Pose

Sorry to disturb you Santa.
'My word, this is a pleasant surprise Master Jacob. How can I help you', Santa said in a soft creamy voice.
'Well I was hoping that you had a present I could give my parents', Jacob stuttered.

Santa paused and took a deep breath. Deep Breath and Hold
'Look around and tell me what you see'.
Jacob looked at the simple wooden house, nothing on the walls and just a big fire and two cosey chairs. There was a glass jar with mistletoe but that was all.
Jacob said, 'nothing much'.

'That is right but you may take anything you like, what is mine is yours', Santa smiled.
'But there is nothing and I would not take anything that belonged to you', Jacob said horrified.

'Take one more look, but with your eyes closed'. Lie down close eyes and breathe.
This was confusing but Jacob did as he was told and without warning his body filled with the best feelings in the whole entire world. He felt like he was floating in a warm hug, a tight hug with gallons of love.

'You see Master Jacob. This is the very best gift. The gift of love. And there is more of it then you can imagine'. Santa stretched his big body and prepared for a nap.
'Go home now and give it to your parents and it will be the most wonderful Christmas ever.

You see, no one really needs presents at Christmas, we all just need love'. Savasana
